At Boise Birth Village, we believe that no family should walk through pregnancy, birth, or postpartum alone.
Our goal is to help create a true village of support—one where families feel cared for, informed, and connected to the resources and people who can walk alongside them during this transformative time.
Our Story
In 2021, two birth workers came together with a shared vision: to create a place where families in the Treasure Valley could find meaningful, compassionate support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Haylee Richman and Sharina Jensen had each been deeply involved in birth work and had seen firsthand how powerful the right support can be for a growing family. They also saw how difficult it could be for families to navigate their options or find care that truly felt personal and aligned with their needs.

They created Boise Birth Village with the belief that birth and postpartum support should feel like a true village—one built on trust, connection, and community.

From the beginning, Boise Birth Village was designed to be a place where:
• Families can access thoughtful, personalized support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
• Parents feel informed, confident, and surrounded by care during one of life’s most transformative seasons
• Birth professionals can work within a supportive community rather than in isolation
What began as a small practice built around Haylee and Sharina’s shared passion quickly grew as more families sought out the kind of care and connection they were creating.

In 2024, Boise Birth Village expanded to welcome additional doulas, allowing the village to grow while continuing to offer the same heart-centered care families had come to trust. This expansion made it possible to support more families while also creating a collaborative space where doulas can connect, learn from one another, and build sustainable careers in birth work.
Today, Boise Birth Village continues to grow as a community-centered resource for families in the Treasure Valley. Through doula support, childbirth education, lactation guidance, placenta services, photography and postpartum care, our goal remains the same as it was from the beginning: to help families feel supported, empowered, and surrounded by a village during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
